In this Linux tip, we’re going to look at the lsblk (pronounced “l s block”) command that provides information on block devices -- such as hard disks where you read and write one block of data at a time.
The bottom six lines show the two hard disks on this system and the CD/DVD drive.
The lsblk command can also show you whether your block devices are HDD or SSD (solid state) devices. ROTA means “rotational device” (i.e., HDD). 0 = SSD.
