Seth Hardy

Seth Hardy is Director of Security Research at Appthority, where he works to detect and prevent mobile threats. He is a professional “hacker” who has a strong background in cryptography and a formal education in mathematics.

Hardy has experience with reverse engineering binaries and document file formats, threat actor attribution, antivirus bypass, vulnerability research and penetration testing. He is interested in various aspects of cryptography, including random number generation, trust networks and anonymous systems.

Previously, Hardy conducted research on targeted threats against human rights organizations as part of the Citizen Lab, where he continues to be on the technical advisory group. He holds a Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
