Texas Republican Mac Thornberry has been appointed chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Science, Research and Development. Goals for this subcommittee include the development of short- and long-term R&D programs on cybersecurity technologies. Thornberry is also a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the Budget Committee.
