There are two types of satellite Internet:· Two-way · One-way One-way satellite Internet implies sending requests from the client to the server and via a satellite channel and receiving responses from the server from the satellite as well.One-way satellite Internet can be currently used as a replacement for dial-up Internet because it is relatively cheap. TDMA is the underlying transport mechanism used by GSM networks.GPRS provides the transmission of IP packets over existing cellular networks.GPRS is a network overlay to the existing cellular network. It uses the nature of IP transmissions to its advantage. Because IP traffic is made of “packets”, the network does not need to have continuous data transmission. Thus, IP traffic can easily share the channels. A user may be receiving or transmitting data while another one is reading information. The second user does not need to use the channel during this time, and it makes packet networks more efficient than circuit-switched networks (2G), where the channel would be in use, regardless of the user transmitting or not.Each channel is divided into eight time slots, with a maximum data transmission of 13.4Kbps. One of these time slots is used for control, and normal allocation would reserve two slots for voice traffic as well. Asymmetric traffic (more download than uploads) dictates the distribution of the remaining time slots:If there is no encryption, it is open for interception. It is not a hack since there is nothing to hack. What is a hack? Hacking refers to the re-configuring or re-programming of a system to function in ways not facilitated by the owner, administrator, or designer. The term(s) have several related meanings in the technology and computer science fields, wherein a "hack" may refer to a clever or quick fix to a computer program problem, or to what may be perceived to be a clumsy solution to a problem.The terms "hack" and "hacking" are also used to refer to a modification of a program or device to give the user access to features that were otherwise unavailable, such as do it yourself circuit bending. It is from this usage that the term "hacking" is often incorrectly used to refer to more nefarious criminal uses such as identity theft, credit card fraud or other actions categorized as computer crime, there being a distinction between security breaking and hacking, a better term for security breaking would be cracking.As we already know, responses are received from the satellite. But the satellite cannot send data specifically to a particular user, it sends data to all dishes that receive a signal from it, therefore, if you have the proper equipment, the signal is just waiting in the airwaves to be had. As you have already guessed, it is enough just to position your satellite dish and you will also receive a signal with data that other users receive. You may say, okay, we get the signal, but how can we get data out of that signal? That's what the SkyGrabber program was written for. The program captures what other users download and saves the captured information to the disk. You do not have to be connected to the Internet, all you have to do is to rotate your satellite dish to the provider and the program will do the rest.
