Department of Defense veteran to oversee product and internal security for data center provider Data center infrastructure provider IO has promoted Bob Butler to SVP and Chief Security Officer. He will “oversee internal information security, privacy and cyber security readiness for our products and among our global customer base,” according to the company. Butler held the position of VP, Government Strategies for IO during the past year. Previously he served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber policy in the US Department of Defense. He has more than 30 years’ experience in defense, intelligence, national security and IT.
