Director, Information Security – Financial ServicesLocation:  Long Island City, NY Compensation: $150K Base, 0-80%Bonus, Benefits

As the head of Information Security for a business unit consisting of three separate business areas, this person will have three key sets of responsibilities:

1) Handle all technology and non-technology security related events for the business unit

2) Manage and implement all corporate oversight, security programs and control standards for the business unit

3) Integrate two security teams and manage group – one focused on technology related issues such as security architecture, reviews, risk assessments, remediation. The other team more on the business side – ie: business process, specific technologies, entitlements management, etc. Key Responsibilities:  Develops business unit IS program and structure

Establish trusted security advisor relationships with business, operations and IT partners within the business line while leveraging peer security resources within the wider IS unit

Directs activities for all aspects of the IS program for the business

Aligns the IS program to meet the business and resolves inherent conflicts

Coordinates regulatory and audit IS reviews of the business

Manages implementation and ongoing metrics for the business IS program

Responds to security events by initiating and coordinating emergency actions to protect the business and its customers from an imminent loss of information or value

Establishes a strong liaison and communication with the information technology and system development functions to enable the technical information security aspects of the IS program

Responsible for staffing, performance evaluation, and compensation management of the security team within the business they support.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years experience managing Information Security and/or Compliance teams in financial service

Strong analytic skills with ability to analyze and propose resolution to diverse security problems in the technical and business process arenas.

Strong influence and communications skills, both written and oral in order to achieve IS goals in a limited resource environment while engaging active business and IT participation.Experience managing distributed teams and working in a matrix reporting environment preferred

Extensive experience implementing IS risk analysis programs, socializing rollout of security technology and managing ongoing security oversight is required.

Experience in recommending and reviewing security application architecture solutions for mainframe and distributed systems on Wintel and Unix is highly desirable.

CISSP or CISM certification preferred

Knowledge of consumer banking and operations is desirable
