Vice President Data Management InfrastructureHiring Company: Banking/Financial Services – ITIndustry: Banking/Financial ServicesNumber of Employees: 1,000 – 5,000Total Compensation: $200K+Reports To: SVP TechnologyLocation:  McLean, VAPOSITION OVERVIEWThis position is accountable for operating the technical infrastructurerelated to transactional data stores, the corporate data warehouse, theoperational data store, and the metadata stores.  This position is accountable for the design and operational management of adata access layer within the technology infrastructure and for managing thetool set for data access and reporting.  In the data management practice,this position is also accountable for providing a long range view of thestrategic horizon as it relates to data infrastructure. The position manages a group of up to 200 associates.RESPONSIBILITIES1. Direct the coordination of data management infrastructure and dataadministration.  Ensure high availability of all transactional data storesfor the corporation.               2. Corporate Data Warehouse – Lead the effort to design and create anintegrated data repository for historical data with high performance andhigh availability data access capability.  This includes design of the datastructure and the operational management of the repository.               3. Operational Data Store – Lead the effort to design and create anintegrated data repository for current, detailed operation/transaction datawith high performance and high availability data access capability.  Thisincludes design of the data structure and the operational management of therepository.               4. Meta Data Stores  – Lead the effort to design and the operationalmanagement of a repository containing descriptions of the data contained inthe data stores. 5. Reporting Tools – Responsible for the selection and management of acomputing tool set for data access and reporting.   MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS  Banking or Financial Services experience is NOT required but you must beable to outline your experience in an industry where there has been acomplex data warehouse environment with scale and scope.  Our idealcandidate has experience in a “re-architect” scenario as The Company is are-engineering environment.10+ years of experience in information technology, with demonstrated project management responsibility in a variety of application areas.

5+ years experience as a project team manager implementing state of the art data architecture.

Experience in developing information systems for business use, supported by data base management concepts.

Experience at integration of enterprise wide systems.

Experience in the operational management of high availability enterprisesystems.  Experience in control process management with demonstrated abilities in the following areas: Communication and Influence, Visioning and Alignment, Innovation and Change, Strategic Business Perspective, Customer Orientation and Coaching.B.A. or B.S. in Operations Research, Computer Science or BusinessAdministration.
