It’s that time of year again. The RSA Conference, the annual gathering of IT security vendors and their customers begins next week in San Francisco and if you’re planning on attending and don’t have a hotel room yet, be ready for a long commute into the city. The landscape of the security industry has changed dramatically since last year’s gathering. RSA is now part of EMC. IronPort is now part of Cisco. The list goes on and on but what is notable is that the industry continues to consolidate as the big players work to round out their enterprise offerings and shore up their primary businesses. Look for this to continue in 2007 and be prepared for plenty of news for the RSA floor.
