No, the PlayStation Network’s still not back, and yes, we’re over a week into the outage, but at least Sony’s finally answering questions gamers care about.

For starters, the company says your PS3 friend list, download history, and PlayStation Network-related settings won’t be affected by the outage. Also: that any trophies earned in single-player games while the PSN’s been down will be intact when service is restored. (Just don’t, you know, drop your PS3 in a lake or something.)

Those of you with premium PlayStation Plus memberships ($50 a year) wondering if the PSN outage mucked with any online extras can breathe easier: Your PS+ cloud saves are, well, safe, and you’ll have access to them once service resumes.

It sounds like Sony Online Entertainment’s planning to compensate DC Universe Online and Free Realms players. SOE plans to host “special events across [its] game portfolio” and says it’s working on a “make good” plan for PS3 players.

As for a general Sony “goodwill gesture,” the company says its evaluating ways to make one now, and “to show appreciation for your extraordinary patience as we work to get these services back online.”
