Bernd Wagner, the managing director of Fujitsu's German subsidiary, has jumped to Software AG to become its chairman.

Bernd Wagner, the managing director of Fujitsu’s German subsidiary, has jumped to Software AG to become its chairman.

Fujitsu Germany has already found a replacement and will name the new managing director next week, said Rolf Schwirz, CEO of Fujitsu Technology Solutions, during a news conference at the Cebit IT fair in Hanover, Germany, on Monday. Schwirz is temporarily filling the vacant position until the new hire comes on board.

“We have already signed a contract with the successor of the German MD,” said Schwirz. “We’re going to most likely announce the name next week. This has to do with a sequence of events at his current employer.”

Schiwirz, who was speaking moments before Software AG confirmed Wagner would become its new chairman, declined to provide any details about the departure of Wagner.
