Following in the footsteps of Daft Punk and their tradition of wearing tricked-out headgear and suits while performing, DJ Kid Chameleon wore a Mac Plus on his head for his latest set. The retro headgear itself was originally designed by Terrence Scoville for a sculpture class project, but then evolved into an additional screen to display wild visuals during Kid Chameleon's performance.

To make the Mac Plus wearable, Scoville cut a hole in its bottom, removed all of the internals and replaced them with the shaved-down insides of a bicycle helmet. The iPad is slotted into the case between the front bezel and the bicycle helmet, and a sound-controlled electroluminescent graphic equalizer rounds out the ensemble.

Of course, that’s all well and good, but there’s one question that has been so far unanswered: how can Kid Chameleon see out of that thing?
