Two cousins from the Chicago area were indicted this week on charges that they conspired to commit “violent jihad” against Americans overseas, according to an Associated Press report on suntimes.com.

A grand jury in Cleveland indicted Zubair Ahmed, 27, and cousin Khaleel Ahmed, 26, along with three other suspects who were already facing terrorism charges, according to the AP. Both U.S. citizens, the Ahmeds are accused of finding recruits to commit terrorist acts against Americans and finding locations for training them to use firearms, explosives and hand-to-hand combat, the AP reports.

ABC7Chicago.com reports that the conspiracy includes seven men, including purported plot leader Marwan el-Hindi, who was charged last year with trying to attack U.S. troops in Iraq.

The Ahmed cousins, accused of helping with a suicide-bombing plot targeting U.S. forces, could face life in prison if convicted of the charges, ABC7Chicago.com reports.
