A Washington, D.C., area man was arrested by the Secret Service on Sunday for allegedly trying to jump over the White House fence with a suspicious-looking package, CNN reports.

Roger Witmer, 44, was apprehended before he could make it over the fence, Secret Service spokesman Tom Mazur told CNN.

“Evidently, he had in his possession some type of plastic bag, and that ended up on the south lawn at the fence line,” Mazur told CNN. He said the bag’s contents are being investigated.

At the time of the incident, President Bush was on his way back to the White House after a bike ride, according to CNN.

Mazur told CNN that Witmer is being charged with unlawful entry, disorderly conduct and destruction of government property—because he damaged some of the fence while climbing it.
