On Thursday, four police officers were shot as they attempted to serve a federal narcotics warrant on a southwest Dallas home, the Associated Press reports via FOXNews.com.

According to Dallas Police Lt. Rick Watson, one of the officers was shot in the head and is currently listed in serious condition. The three others who were wounded are in fair condition at the city’s Parkland Memorial Hospital, the AP reports.

The officers arrived at the home in an armored personnel carrier and broadcast their intentions to serve the warrant over a loudspeaker.  As soon as they did, someone inside the house began shooting, Watson told the AP.

The suspects eventually surrendered, and according to the AP, three people, including a 10-year-old boy were taken into custody.  One of the three was wounded.
