The CSO Executive Council has announced the creation of a new leadership position focused on expanding membership in strategic areas for the organization, a recent press release states.

The new emeritus faculty chairs will help manage issues of the council’s diversified membership, including international and sector issues.

According to the CSO Executive Council, David Burrill, former head of group security for British American Tobacco and now a director of Burrill Green, with which the council has just established an agency arrangement, will manage international operations and initiatives. Ken Davis, former vice president and CISO of Healthcare Service Corporation, will oversee IT security. Mark Lex, former director of global security of Abbott Labs, will oversee corporate security.

All three former security executives will work with council staff, members and emeritus faculty to produce tools and solutions for their peers, the press release states.

The CSO Executive Council also announced that it will create additional chair positions as specific needs are identified. According to the press release, the three new chairs will work with the main CSO Executive Council office to make sure the collective membership voices are heard throughout the organization.
