FBI Ignored Software Problems, Wasting $100 Million

Although it had identified more than 400 problems with software intended to run a case management system, the FBI pushed ahead with a $17 million test, and ultimately wasted $100 million on a program that had little chance or working. The Washington Post reports that a confidential report to the House Appropriations Committee chronicles a list of errors and misjudgments that were made during the software project’s troubled history, from assigning underqualified personnel to poor oversight and inadequate planning. Read more.
