The Human Resource Management’s 2000 Benefits Study points out thatmore than one-third of U.S. companies have some form of Halloweencelebration and that can possibly undermine security efforts. The Indianapolis Starreports that these parties can turn into HR horror stories and createlegal issues. Employees should be asked to stay away from bringing fakeor real guns, knives and whips, not to wear enticing and eroticcostumes as well as not sending e-mail pranks and jokes that could beoffensive. The paper also recommended making sure that HR was notifiedof any parties and activities.
