According to classified documents, the FBI has apparently been doingsecret surveillance on U.S. residents without paperwork or propernotification of other authorities. The Boston Globereports that the records, turned over as part of the Freedom ofInformation Act, indicate one case of a person under surveillance forat least five years without notification to the Justice Departmentafter the subject moved from New York to Detroit. Other cases point toagents obtaining e-mail after expired warrants, seizing bank recordswithout authority and conducting physical searches without properconsent. Read more.
