DHS Privacy Officer Takes GE Position

Nuala O’Connor Kelly, previously Chief Privacy Officer for the Department of Homeland Security, has accepted the position of Chief Privacy Leader and Senior Counsel for General Electric Company.

Before joining DHS as the department’s first CPO, Kelly held the CPO post at DoubleClick. (For more about Kelly’s work at DHS, read Five Things Every CSO Needs to Know About the Chief Privacy Officer from CSO’s February issue.)

Maureen Cooney, Privacy Office Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for International Privacy Policy, has been appointed as acting CPO for DHS.
