UC Berkeley Recovers Stolen Laptop

A laptop computer with information on 98,000 of the University of California, Berkeley’s graduate students was recovered. An IDG News Service article on Infoworldreports that the laptop’s drive was wiped clean of information and thensold on an Internet auction site, making it impossible to determine ifthe sensitive information was accessed. Stolen on March 11, the theftprompted the university to send letters and e-mails to 98,369 graduatestudents and applicants whose information was stored on the computer. Read more.
