Real Security Problem for RealPlayer

RealNetworks’ media players RealPlayer and Helix Player are now at risk because exploit code for a serious flaw was published. Techworldreports that the flaw, a format string error, affects both players’Unix or Linux versions, and could be exploited via “.rp” and “.rt” fileformats, and possibly other formats. An attacker could exploit the bugby luring the user directly to the malicious files, or to a site inwhich the malicious files are embedded; they could then automaticallyload and execute malicious code.
