Cisco Says No Breaches of IOS Flaw

Cisco Systems said that it knew of no exploitations of a security flaw that was discovered in its IOS router. Computer Business Review Onlinereports that Cisco warned that its IOS router operating system wasvulnerable from a flaw in the firewall Authentication Proxy for FTP andTelnet sessions, enabling hackers to crash or take control. Softwarepatches were made available at the time of the advisory last week.According to Cisco, administrators can dodge the problem by deployingauthentication services for HTTPS and HTTP instead.
