Cisco has warned that its IOS router operating system software isvulnerable to another serious security flaw, affecting theauthentication system for FTP and telnet connections. Techworldreports that the flaw could allow attackers to take over or repeatedlycrash devices running the widely used operating system. The warningfollows on the heels of a controversy that saw Cisco using legal actionagainst a security researcher to prevent him from disclosing techniquesfor exploiting Cisco routers.
