Users Urged to Upgrade to 8.0… A Danish security firm has discovered a “highly critical” vulnerability in Netscape’s browser, prompting the company to recommend that users upgrade to version 8.0. The hole, reported by Secunia, could allow hackers to create websites that would exploit the flaw and execute code on users’ machines. IDG News reports that the vulnerability has been confirmed in Netscape version 7.2 and Version 6.2.3. Said Secunia CTO Thomas Kristensen, “It’s been a while since Netscape has been patched so there’s reason to be concerned.”
