Germany launches IT Security Plan

The German government aims to counter the alarming rise in computerviruses with a national IT security plan that includes theestablishment of a computer emergency response center. An IDG News Service article on Infoworldreports that the new plan, unveiled last Thursday in Berlin by InteriorMinister Otto Schily, comes as Germany and many other industrializednations struggle to come to grips with attacks on IT systems in boththe public and private sectors.
