A University of Southern California database, with about 270,000records of past applicants including their names and Social Securitynumbers, was hacked last month. A Reuters article on Computerworldreports that the breach of the online application database exposed"dozens" of records, according to Katharine Harrington, USC\u2019s dean ofadmissions and financial aid. She could not be more specific about thenumbers involved, but was confident there was no mass downloading ofdata.
