A serious flaw has emerged in Adobe’s Acrobat Reader,leaving PDF files at risk. TechWorld reports that maliciously crafted PDF filescan be used to take control of an operating system when spread with e-mailattachments web page links. Users of Acrobat Reader 5.x on Unix and Linuxoperating systems could be in danger. However, the bug is imperfect and alertsusers to its presence with two error messages that appear before the actiontakes place. Unfortunately, closing the message windows will not stop theattack.
