Roy Mellinger has been promoted to the newly created CISO post at SLM Corporation, the educational funding company commonly known as Sallie Mae. Mellinger held the title of Director, Information Security for the company’s Information Technology Division. Previously he served as CSO and CISO for Heller Financial Corporation.In his new position, Mellinger is responsible for implementing enterprise security strategies and infrastructure protection programs for Sallie Mae and its affiliates.
