Doherty Named CSO at MetroMedia

MetroMedia Inc. appointed retired Brig. Gen Daniel Doherty Chief Security Officer in August 2000. Doherty is responsible for managing internal and network security, as well as for development, implementation and enforcement of global security policies. He acts as MetroMedias industry and government liaison to help develop preventive measures against cyber crimes and to establish industry security standards.

Previously, as Commanding General of the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Command, Doherty led international law enforcement operations, including computer crime investigation and prosecution, spearheaded organizational and resource management initiatives, and trained international investigators. He has also testified before the House Services Committee on a variety of issues.

Mr. Doherty received his commission from Officer Candidate School in 1968. He also earned a B.S. Degree in Business from Florida Southern College and an M.A. in Criminology from Sam Houston State University. He attended the Military Police Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Armed Forces Staff College and Senior Service College Fellowship (NATO Defense College in Rome).
