Pentagon Wants Total Access to Americans’ Personal Data

The Pentagon is planning to build an information system called Total Information Awareness that would provide intelligence analysts and law enforcement officials with instant access to information from Internet mail and calling records to credit card and banking transactions and travel documents, without a search warrant, according to an article in the New York Times.
