Each initial privacy impact analysis must include the following: a description and assessment of the extent to which the proposed rule will impact the privacy interests of individuals; notice of the collection of personal information, specifying what personal information is to be collected; and how that information will be collected, maintained, used and disclosed.

This act also proposes that federal agencies must allow access to such information by the person to whom the information pertains, providing for opportunity to correct inaccuracies; agencies must prevent information collected for one purpose, from being used for another purpose; agencies must also provide security for such information.
