There’s no doubt that the corporate world is more mobile, with employees working both on the road, in their homes or down at the local coffee shop. A huge challenge for enterprise IT security is to secure the data that moves with the employees - not just from device-to-device, but when the data moves from email to app to the cloud and back to the corporate network.

In the latest episode of Security Sessions, I spoke with Brett Hansen, executive director of Dell’s Data Security Solutions division, about data-in-motion challenges and protecting data once it leaves the company.

Among the highlights of the video are the following sections:

1:43 How companies can strike the balance between securing data in motion with employees that are working in many different locations.

3:15 Why there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for protecting data,

5:02 Why large companies need to be concerned about the security of small-business partners.

6:26 Best practices on increasing employee awareness for endpoint data security, including whether to increase consequences for employees who ignore or skirt data protection policies.
