Malware prevention and remediation company Malwarebytes announced last week that it has hired Justin Dolly as the company's first CISO.
Dolly brings to the role close to 20 years of experience in advanced information, infrastructure, web and application security, as well as risk management, network engineering and design.
"This opportunity is attractive in so many ways, not least that it’s a pleasure being a security leader at a company where security is at our absolute core," Dolly said via email. "I am looking forward to not just securing a business, but also running a business which I have done before in my career. I aim to further strengthen our infrastructure, platforms and products, and to augment our (already very high) Security IQ across the board.
“Justin is the perfect fit for Malwarebytes’ first CISO, as he represents the next generation of security leadership as both a practitioner and senior executive,” Malwarebytes CEO Marcin Kleczynski said in a statement. “He has the right combination of tactical and strategic experience needed to drive our entire security stack. We are excited to have such a well-respected security visionary join the growing team at Malwarebytes.”
Prior to joining Malwarebytes, Dolly was VP, Chief Security and Privacy Officer at Jawbone, where he oversaw the security and privacy implications of consumer wearable technology. Prior to that he was VP and CISO at cloud provider ServiceNow. And before that, Dolly was the CISO at VMware Inc. Earlier in his career, Dolly held various security and technology leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente, CNET/CBS Interactive and Macromedia.
Dolly currently serves on the board of directors for SecureAuth Corporation and is a key advisor to data center and cloud computing security company Illumio.
