Job Description
Perform daily information security monitoring activities (log review, intrusion detection, firewall monitoring, etc.). Perform internal vulnerability/penetration testing activities on an on-going basis. Support external testing as necessary. Responsible for reviewing the security implications of proposed changes in the technology environment. Participate in the review of assessment findings to gauge overall risk, severity, and to recommend appropriate corrective measures (where necessary). Assist in evaluating new technology and security products for their relevance to the overall security strategy and in support of new business requirements and initiatives. Help establish and promote appropriate security practices, policies, standards, and guidelines. Responsible for defining security requirements for various new projects. Support formal design reviews, audits, and other practices as necessary. Configure and manage classified systems in accordance with NISPOM Chapter 8.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other closely related field.
Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to promote operational security best practices in diverse organizational areas.
Six to eight years of experience in information security, including experience with firewalls, intrusion detection, security policy compliance monitoring tools, intrusion prevention technologies, anti-virus, anti-spam/spyware, secure remote access, strong authentication technologies, privacy software. Background in networking a must.
