Information Technology Security Officer (Manager)

Job Description
This is professional, administrative and technical work involving the implementation, management and monitoring of security components to provide information security and data integrity across the City's enterprise network. Duties include security controls, oversight, incident investigation, and audit reporting requirements for all stand alone and network computer systems. Work includes responsibility for providing assistance and directing Systems Administrators, Departmental Local Area Network Administrators, Database Administrators, and other IT professionals in security administration activities of desktops, networked systems, and a complex telecommunications network system. Work involves consultation with senior City management staff to define standards and priorities for management information and telecommunications requirements, to identify information technology elements by assessing risk levels and determining appropriate security measures. Work involves providing technical directions in maintaining security and data integrity for both existing and new applications on the enterprise network. Work is performed with considerable latitude under the general direction of the City's CIO, who reviews work through conferences, observation, analysis of reports and evaluation of results achieved.
Salary: $59,152 - $88,728

St. Petersburg operates under the strong mayor form of government - a system that combines the strong political leadership of a mayor with an elected city council. The mayor is responsible for running the daily affairs of the city, the City Council has a chair and a vice chair and must approve city policies, city budget and the mayor's choices for city administrator and city attorney.
The City employs 3,628 full and part-time employees, including 539 sworn police officers and 303 uniformed fire personnel.
Requirements
Qualified applicants must have CISSP or CISA certification; and must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License (essential). Preferred applicants have graduated from an accredited college with a 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field; have a minimum of five years experience in Information Security and in various operating systems such as OS400, UNIX, Novell, Windows NT, Windows 2000; and have PMP certification (desirable). A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
