Generational differences in security, privacy attitudes

How does being a Millennial, a Boomer or a Gen X-er impact your attitude toward security and safety? Ted Harrington from Independent Security Evaluators chats with CSO about generational attitudes toward security and privacy

The wave of Millennials entering the workforce are not only affecting how companies treat their employees when it comes to work-at-home, device and other policies, it’s also affecting the security of the company’s systems. Millennials who grew up with technology have a different attitude towards releasing information (whether inadvertently or not) than older generations, who remember a time when such technologies didn’t exist.

In the latest episode of Security Sessions, I spoke with Ted Harrington, a security consultant with Independent Security Evaluators, about how companies can better train employees based on some of these generational attitudes.
