A comparison by region of responses to the question
"What information security safeguards related to PEOPLE does your organization have in place?". From the 2007 Global State of Information Security Survey (6,820 respondents worldwide).

1) Safeguard: Employee security guards or other physical security measures for information infrastructure.

Worldwide: 50%
High: North America, 58%
Low:  South America, 39%

2) Safeguard: Conduct personnel background checks.

Worldwide: 52%
High: North America, 71%
Low:  Europe, 33%

3) Safeguard: Integrate physical security and information security personnel.

Worldwide: 31%
High: North America, 34%
Low:  Middle East & Africa, 22%

4) Safeguard: Have people dedicated to monitoring employee use of internet/information assets.

Worldwide: 48%
High: North America, 53%
Low:  Europe, 40%

5) Safeguard: Employ Chief Security Officer.

Worldwide: 22%
High: Europe, 25%
Low: South America and Middle East/Africa: 13%
