TASC appoints new CISO

Rick Howard departs Versign's iDefense unit

TASC, a $1.5B systems engineering and integration firm, has named Rick Howard as Chief Information Security Officer.

According to TASC, Howard "will lead the development of TASC's strategic vision, security architecture and technical roadmaps for information security throughout the company."

He was previously general manager for Verisign's iDefense intelligence business, and is a 23-year US Army veteran, with two years as chief of the Army's Computer Emergency Response Team.

Howard holds a master's degree in computer science from the Naval Postgraduate School.
